about us
Hands of Hope is a long-term voluntary project established in January 2014 with a mission to sow seeds of change toward underserved communities through education. Co-founded by three UCSI students, this project aims to provide quality education towards the refugee communities, to instill volunteerism among youth by providing a platform to reach out to the refugee communities and to offer youth an avenue for personal growth and development.
â
Since the establishment of Hands of Hope, up to a total of 464 students have volunteered with this project, reaching out to children from 8 refugee schools and 205 communities. Every semester, Hands of Hope connects students to volunteer at the community schools by providing extra classes for the children on a weekly basis, mainly in academic subjects such as English, Mathematics and Science.
â
There are also a variety of events and projects organized from time to time by Hands of Hope to raise awareness on refugee issues in Malaysia, generate funds to support refugee students education, and create systems for the refugee communities to be self-sustainable.
